One 12oz package of chocolate chips is about 2 cups. You can also add crushed nuts and M&Ms.
To make chewier cookies, substitute half the butter with 6tlbs of oil. Put the cookies on the tray like a tower, not a round ball. Cook at 325°F for 13min. They will not look done. Then let cool on the tray for 10min.

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Mix together flour, salt, and baking soda.
  2. In another bowl, beat sugar, softened butter, and vanilla extract. Add eggs one at a time while beating. Then beat in flour mix and chips. If you have the patience, let the dough rest in the fridge for 24 hours.
  3. Bake on greased cookie sheet for 25 minutes or until golden. After taking them out of the oven, let them rest on the cookie sheet for two minutes then transfer to a wire rack.
